Midnight Screaming is a quarterly publication now accepting submissions. We want your fiction—short stories, flash, and poetry! New issues come out in January, April, July, and October. While the cutoff date to be considered for a specific issue is the first of the previous month (e.g. to be considered for the January issue your work needs to be submitted by December 1) we do accept submissions year round.

Midnight Screaming happens when you get a great new idea for a story, you sit down to write and type a few words. You think for a bit, type a few words, think for a bit, and then suddenly it's midnight and you only have a paragraph or, when the next issue needs to be printed tomorrow, but you're still trying to format it at midnight. It is the same sort of feeling you get when the laptop you thought you loved crashes and all of your files are lost in the black hole of digital evil.

Midnight Screaming wants to publish your short stories, flash fiction, and poetry! We're looking for all genres from fantasy and speculative fiction, to literary and mainstream. At Midnight Screaming we dream of a magazine where fantasy dwells with literary fiction, where romance romps amongst the pages holding hands with chick lit and horror.
But, doesn't the name Midnight Screaming suggest that the editor might be looking for things of a darker nature? No! Though we're certainly interested in reading it.
